Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about how Shoppy Find in Store works, stock, stores, the widget, billing, and your customers' data.
Stock
Where does the stock come from?
From Shopify. The widget shows the product’s Available quantity at each of your Shopify locations, live. You don’t enter stock in the app. See How stock works.
Do customers see how many items a store has?
No. They see In stock or Out of stock, and a low stock message if you set one. See Stock levels and messages.
My stock is in a point-of-sale system. Will it work?
Yes, as long as your stock is synced to Shopify’s locations. Find in Store shows whatever Shopify has.
Does choosing a store reserve stock?
No. It only shows customers where the product is. Customers still choose delivery or pickup at checkout.
Stores
How many stores can I have?
As many as you like. Each plan includes a number of active stores, and extra active stores are charged per month. See Plans and billing.
Can I hide a store from customers?
Yes. Set it to Inactive in Locations. Inactive stores don’t show, and don’t count towards your plan.
Can I add a store that isn’t a Shopify location?
You can add it by hand or from a CSV file, but it can’t show stock, because stock comes from Shopify locations. Add the store as a location in Shopify, then import it. See Import locations from Shopify.
I use Shoppy Connect. Where do I edit my stores?
In Shoppy Connect. When your stores come from Shoppy Connect, they can’t be edited in Find in Store. See Locations managed by Shoppy Connect.
The widget
Which display type should I use?
Start with Drawer Accordion if you want a simple button that opens a store list, or Tab if you want stock right on the product page. Try a few and check them on a product page. See Display types.
Can I show the customer’s store on every page?
Yes. Add the Shoppy FS - Header Inline block to your theme’s header. See Other theme blocks.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The widget works on phones, tablets, and computers. Check it on your phone after you change your settings.
Can I show the widget in other languages?
Yes. Use Translate in the app menu. See Translations.
Do I need a Google Maps API key?
Yes, for address search as customers type, and for maps. See Get a Google Maps API key.
Billing
Is there a free trial?
Yes, 7 days, with every feature. Nothing is charged during the trial.
Does Google charge me too?
Google may charge for Google Maps through your own Google Cloud account. Google Maps Platform includes some free monthly usage. See Get a Google Maps API key.
How do I cancel?
Uninstall the app. Shopify cancels your plan straight away. See Uninstall Shoppy Find in Store.
Customers and data
Does the app collect customers’ personal details?
The widget doesn’t ask customers for their name or email, except in the Free Quote form of the Inline Nearest Store block. The store a customer chooses is saved in their own browser.
If you turn on Shoppy Connect analytics or Klaviyo, store searches and choices are sent there. See Shoppy Connect analytics and Klaviyo integration.
