Locations
Import locations from Shopify
Bring your Shopify locations into Shoppy Find in Store so customers can check stock at each store, then make them active and set their hours.
Find in Store reads stock from your Shopify locations. Importing a location links it to its Shopify inventory, so the widget can show how many of each product that store has.
This is the only way to add a location that shows stock. Locations added by hand or from a CSV file aren’t linked to Shopify inventory, so the widget can’t show stock for them.
Before you start
Each store needs to be a location in Shopify, with its full address:
- In your Shopify admin, go to Settings › Locations.
- Check each store is listed. To add one, click Add location.
- Check the address is complete. Customers’ distance to each store is worked out from this address.
- Make sure your products have stock at each location, in Shopify or through your stock sync app.
Import your locations
- In the app, go to Locations.
- Click Import › Import from Shopify.
- Tick the locations customers can check stock at. Locations you’ve already imported show Imported and can’t be ticked again.
- Click the import button, for example Import 3 locations.
The app copies each location’s name, address, and phone number from Shopify.
After you import
Imported locations start as Inactive, with no trading hours, so customers can’t see them yet. For each one:
- Click the location to open it.
- Set Status to Active.
- Under Trading hours, tick Use default trading hours, or set the hours for each day.
- Add an email address and tags if you’d like.
- Click Save.
To update many locations at once, select them in the list and use Set active and Update hours. See Find, filter, and bulk edit locations.
If your stores are set up in Shoppy Connect, their status, trading hours, and special dates come across with them.
Good to know
- Importing doesn’t change anything in Shopify. Your Shopify locations stay as they are.
- Changes in Shopify don’t flow back. If you change a store’s name, address, or phone number in Shopify after importing, update it in the app too. Importing it again is skipped, because it’s already imported.
- Keep both addresses the same. The app shows the address you enter in the app, but works out the distance to each store from its Shopify address.
- Deleting a location in the app doesn’t delete it in Shopify. You can import it again later.
